What You Will Do

We have an exciting opportunity for a postdoctoral fellow to undertake research within the Child Well-being Research Institute. Research will be directly related to implementation of the Better Start Literacy Approach working with tamariki, their whānau and school communities. We are looking for someone with a strong background in children's learning, development and literacy to help lead this component of the research.

Who You Are

You will have a PhD, ideally with a specialisation in paediatric psychology or a related discipline, as well as a proven research background. Ideally you will also have experience working alongside teachers, in Te Reo Māori and knowledge of Kaupapa Māori research methodologies.

You will have demonstrated experience of excellent research capabilities (design and leadership) required to carry out innovative and insightful research and a publication track record as well as experience with preparation and delivery of quality oral presentations.

UC's Child Well-being Research Institute is where 'nurturing research excellence to support children's holistic well-being' takes place. You will be working closely with a dynamic, interdisciplinary group of researchers, teachers, speech-language therapists and other professionals as part of the Child Well-being Research Institute team. You will located at Manawa, a state-of-the-art health and education research hub in Christchurch's central city.
