We are searching for the working group Synovial Pathology at the Institute of Musculoskeletal Medicine in frame of a collaboration project funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) initially limited to 3 years, a Postdoctoral Scientist (gn*)Ref. 05396

Salary according to TV-L E13

Full-Time with 100%

(*gn=gender neutral)

The project BICRA “Drug transport: Responsive bioconjugates for selective and rapid accumulation in inflammatory and degenerative joints (BICRA) – in vitro and in vivo studies” focuses on analyses of the therapeutic effects of biotherapeutics using human samples and murine in vitro and in vivo models for arthritic or degenerative disease according to animal welfare and hygiene regulations.

Your requirements:

• University degree with doctorate in biology, biomedicine or life sciences

• Profound knowledge of synovial fibroblast and chondrocyte biology in physiological and pathological conditions such as inflammatory or degenerative joint diseases,

• Profound knowledge of cell biological (especially cell culture of synovial fibroblasts and chondrocytes in 3D microsphere models of the synovial membrane), molecular biological (Western blot, siRNA, real-time PCR, ELISA) and histological methods (preparation of histological preparations, immunocyto- and immunohistochemistry)

• Extensive experience and knowledge in working with different knock out and transgenic animals and murine inflammatory or degenerative joint disease models (FELASA-B is an advantage),

• Flexibility, high team and communication skills and above-average motivation

• Independent, reliable and structured way of working with a strong sense of quality,

• Excellent Internet and PC skills (Powerpoint, Excel, GraphPadPrism),

• Very good written and spoken English language skills

• Willingness to travel for several days presenting the results at national and international events
