Postdoc — Single-cell technology development
University of Colorado School of Medicine
Location: Aurora, CO
Job Number: 7072643
Posting Date: Nov 27, 2020
Application Deadline: Open Until Filled
Job Description
Our laboratory seeks a Postdoctoral Fellow to develop new single-cell technologies. Our group is in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics and part of the RNA Bioscience Initiative (https://rockyrna.org) at the University of Colorado School of Medicine.
The Hesselberth lab recently developed two new single-cell approaches to measure biochemical activities in single cells (https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/32286626/) and to track DNA conjugates through tissues (https://www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/2020.08.19.219527v1). We now plan to deploy these methods broadly and develop companion technologies.
The candidate might work on one or more of these representative goals; these are not exclusive and we welcome new ideas:
Developing of new single-cell biochemical methods to enable CRISPR and small molecule inhibitor screens
Integrating single cell biochemistry data with single cell RNA-seq measurements
Optimizing molecular tracking devices for studying ligand dissemination in tissue
Applying these tools to spatial approaches to understand biochemical activities and ligand dissemination in situ.
The candidate will also work closely with computational biologists in the RNA Bioscience Initiative to develop new analysis strategies for single cell biochemistry and molecular tracking data.
Minimum Qualifications:
PhD in molecular biology or related discipline
Working knowledge of single-cell mRNA sequencing, molecular biology and high throughput DNA sequencing data analysis
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in single-cell biology
Expertise in R and/or Python programming, and next generation sequencing analysis
We are committed to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion.
