The Department of Biological and Environmental Science is currently seeking to recruit candidates to the positions of

POSTDOCTORAL or POSTGRADUATE RESEARCHER in CELL AND MOLECULAR/PHAGE BIOLOGY

The position starts on 4th January 2021 or as soon as possible thereafter, contract length maximum of 1,5 years.

Qualifications we are looking for

We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral/Postgraduate Researcher to join our group and participate in the development of phage therapy pipeline. Experience in molecular biology, bacteriology and phage biology are highly valued. The research group of Matti Jalasvuori studies different approaches to combat antibiotic resistant bacterial infections.

You are the person we are looking for if you have a Doctoral/Master's degree, or be about to obtain a Doctoral/Master's degree, in microbiology, molecular biology or similar field. The PhD/MSc degree required for the position must have been completed before starting the position.

The duties, qualification requirements and language skills of a postdoctoral/postgraduate researcher are stipulated by the University of Jyväskylä Regulations and language skills guidelines. A good command of English is required and a proficiency to teach in English will be considered beneficial.

The annual salary range for a Postdoctoral Researcher will be approximately 38,000 EUR (gross income, including holiday bonus), depending on the qualifications and experience of the candidate. The annual salary range for a Postgraduate Researcher will be approximately 30,000 EUR (gross income, including holiday bonus). A trial period of six months will be used in the beginning of the employment.
