Postdoctoral Research Assistant (PDRA)
Cardiovascular, Redox signalling and Oxidative stress
Applications are invited for up to 2 motivated and committed Postdoctoral Research Assistant (PDRAs) with experience in redox signalling and oxidative stress in cardiovascular disease models. The posts are funded by a research grants from the British Heart Foundation and Medical Research Council within Prof Philip Eaton’s group and is based at the Centre for Clinical Pharmacology in the William Harvey Research Institute based in Charterhouse Square. The successful candidate will carry out investigations in the area of redox signalling and oxidative stress in the setting of cardiovascular health and disease.
The successful candidates will be expected to have a PhD degree in a biological sciences discipline, experience in redox signalling and oxidative stress, protein analysis and protein thiol analysis relevant to redox signalling. In addition they will have knowledge of disease models, protein oxidation measurement, and redox alterations in health and disease.
This is a full time, fixed-term appointment for 36 months in the first instance. Starting salary will be in the range £33,615 – £44,015 per annum inclusive of London Allowance. The benefits package includes 30 days annual leave, a pension scheme and an interest free season ticket loan.
The successful candidate/s will require a standard DBS check.
Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
