　　Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume):

　　PhD or MD/PhD or foreign equivalent in molecular biology or cell biology. Molecular and cell biology skills on mammalian cells or mouse models, and prior experience with skin or epithelial biology are required. Candidate must have demonstrated experience in cilia biology, intracellular trafficking, protein-protein interaction, pigmentation, small GTPase, or extracellular matrix biology, and a proven record of productivity as demonstrated by recent first author publications in leading peer-reviewed journals in respective fields, and excellent communication skills.

　　Preferred Qualifications:

　　A broad spectrum of in vitro and in vivo skills in molecular and cell biology or biochemistry is preferred. The ideal candidate should be an excellent team player, capable of working independently on multiple projects, with prior experience in oral presentations at national/international meetings, and a clear academic career plan.

　　Brief Description of Duties:

　　The Postdoctoral Associate will assist the Dr. Jiang Chen in the department of Pathology, Stony Brook University (SUNY – Stony Brook). The incumbent will conduct research and ensure that all experiments are appropriately conducted following the policies and procedures of Stony Brook University.

　　We are seeking a dedicated, self-motivated and goal-driven postdoctoral associate who has prior experience and publication record in molecular biology, cell biology, or developmental biology research. Projects are aimed at examining the molecular functions of planar cell polarity (PCP) and cilia-related genes in the context of skin and hair follicle development, and in skin cancers. Both in vitro and in vivo models will be utilized.

　　•       Conducting molecular and cell biology research experiments

　　•       Manuscripts writing and grant/fellowship application

　　•       Laboratory maintenance

　　•       Supervising undergraduate students and graduate students.

　　•       Presentation at local, national, or international meetings.

　　•       Other duties as assigned.
