Postdoctoral position in Metabolism and Cancer at University of Lausanne : Lausanne, Switzerland

To complement the research activities in the group of Prof. Lluis Fajas we are seeking to recruit a Postoctoral fellow to work on projects relating to the role of cell cycle regulators in the control of metabolism under normal and pathological conditions, such as cancer. The project covers molecular biology, cellular and mouse genetics approaches, in combination with bioinformatics techniques. A typical project that could be developed in the lab is the participation of the cell cycle kinase CDK4 in the control of the metabolism of cancer cells. We are also open to new research ideas that collaborators wish to bring into the lab. We search for a highly motivated scientist and critical thinker with less than five years from the PhD degree. Experience in mouse work is required, and skills in metabolic phenotyping will be appreciated. Team player. Good knowledge in English.

The Fajas lab is hosted at the Center for Integrative Genomics (CIG) at the University of Lausanne (UNIL), a vibrant, well-funded institute with a focus on functional genomics and equipped with modern core facilities (see www.unil.ch/cig). It is embedded in the broader Lausanne research environment that includes two universities (UNIL, EPFL), the Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics, Ludwig Center for Cancer Research, university hospital, and a cluster of biotech companies flourishing in the larger lake Geneva area.

The expected start date in the position is the 01.01.2019 (or to be agreed). We offer a contract up to a maximum of 5 years. A competitive salary for the positions is available, although application to personal, international fellowship programs will be encouraged.
