摘要:

A postdoctoral fellow position is available in the Immune Monitoring and Diagnosis Lab, Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC), led by Dr. Carsten Krieg (https://www.cktherapeutics.com/). The laboratory is interested in discovering new biomarkers that correlate with response to cancer immunotherapy and the underlying mechanisms by combining the newest wet lab technologies such as mass cytometry and single cell sequencing with artificial intelligence-guided bioinformatic analysishttps://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/29309059 and https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/29628312
The successful candidate will utilize state-of-the-art single cell transcriptomic and proteomic platforms, such as RNAseq (Chromium, C1) and mass cytometry (CyTOF), and computational approaches to study the composition, mechanistic interactions and social networks during the immunotherapy of cancer. Mechanistic studies will also involve the use of animal models that are well established in the lab.

Candidates must have received (or be expecting to receive) a Ph.D. degree in Biology, Immunology, or Cell Biology, within the past 5 years. Postdoctoral experience is not required, but a good publication record that includes one or more first-author articles in peer-reviewed journals is essential.

Candidates must have an advanced understanding of flow cytometry and extensive training and experience with conventional and enhanced flow cytometry data handling and fluency in spoken and written English. The following are not strictly required but would be advantageous: experience with mass cytometry, molecular biology, demonstrable programming skills in R, capacity to improve or develop methodologies, experience with statistical methods and computational biology.

The starting salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications. This position includes a comprehensive benefits package including life and health insurance benefits. Also, Charleston area regional public transportation is free to use for all MUSC students/employees. The initial appointment will be for 1 year, and may be renewed annually for a maximum of 5 years.

Qualified individuals should contact Dr. Carsten Krieg by e-mail, at kriegc@musc.edu. Please attach a comprehensive curriculum vitae, publication list and contact details for 3 or more referees. Applicants who are not US citizens or permanent residents may apply, indicating their immigration/visa status, if any.
