　　Post-docs and PhD students needed for research on urban environment and health

　　A consortium of leading universities plans to appoint outstanding post-docs and PhD students for research on urban environment and health. The research will use analytical methods from a range of disciplines to model the impacts of policy scenarios on the environment and health in cities in high- and low-income regions of the world. We have a particular focus on using emerging data and novel methods to characterise cities’ environment and health, with emphasis on within-city variations. We are looking for outstanding candidates from engineering, environmental, health, and social sciences, as well as from computer, data and mathematical sciences. We are especially interested in candidates who have creatively applied data science methods to emerging data, e.g. imagery, social media, crowd-sourced data, for studying environmental, health, and social phenomena in different settings. The universities seeking applicants include Imperial College London, King’s College London, University of British Columbia, McGill University, Harvard University, and University of Chicago. Recruitment will be done by individual universities but expression of interest can be made by sending a curriculum vitae, and a brief statement of relevant expertise and interests to global.env.health@imperial.ac.uk
