Job Description

We study the molecular mechanisms underlying neural circuit development, sensitive period plasticity, and vocal communication in the songbird, using it as a model for speech and language development and related neural developmental disorders such as autisms. We employ a multidisciplinary approach to investigate gene and epigenetic regulation, dendritic and synaptic development, and vocal learning behavior (Shi et al., eLife 2018).

We are seeking an energetic and self-motivated individual with a recent PhD in molecular neuroscience or related fields. Broad experiences in molecular cloning, gene regulation, epigenetics, Western blot, immunostaining, viral work, and animal behavior are especially desirable.
