英国爱丁堡大学巨噬细胞迁移和炎症的果蝇研究的博士后职位
We are pleased to announce a call for applications for three Wellcome Trust funded postdoctoral researcher positions and one Lab Manager position to investigate mechanisms of macrophage migration and inflammation in Drosophila embryos. These positions in the lab of Professor Will Wood will use fly genetics and live imaging opportunities to analyse fundamental aspects of inflammatory cell migration with a longer term view to translate these findings for design of therapeutics to modulate immune cell function in the clinic.
These are 3 year positions funded by the Wellcome Trust and we are looking for applicants who have finished their Ph.D, or will do very shortly, and have a background in Drosophila cell/developmental biology and/or inflammatory cell biology/cell migration. One of the key focuses of the lab is that of how immune cells integrate competing signals and how innate immune cells build memory or become ‘primed’ by exposure to a given cue/signal. For a recent paper and review from our group please see the following:

• H. Weavers and W. Wood (2016) Creating a Buzz about Macrophages: The Fly as an In Vivo Model for Studying Immune Cell Behavior. Developmental Cell 38(2): 129-32
Work will be carried out within the Centre for Inflammatory Research at the University of Edinburgh. The positions are available to start on September 1st but start date is negotiable. The positions are for full time posts, however applications from applicants desiring part time hours will also be considered. These posts are available on a fixed term basis until 31.8.2021.
