德克萨斯大学MD安德森癌症中心计算生物学和生物信息学博士后
Job Description
The Kalluri laboratory at MD Anderson Cancer Center wants to expand its work on the molecular underpinnings of cancer initiation, progression and metastasis, and to translate the findings into novel therapeutic approaches. Postdoctoral fellowship/Research Scientist positions are immediately available to outstanding candidates with specific training and proven publication record and expertise in the areas of bioinformatics and computational biology. The Kalluri laboratory focuses on innovation research in the area of cancer biology with a specific focus on oncogene addiction, tumor microenvironment, stromal biology, exosomes biology, tumor metabolism and tumor immunology. Recent publications on the stromal biology of cancer (Ozdermir et al. 2014, Cancer Cell), exosomes biology in cancer (Melo et al., 2014 Cancer Cell; Melo et al. 2015, Nature), tumor immunology (Ozdermir et al. 2014, Cancer Cell; Carstens et al. 2017, Nature Communications), metastasis (Zheng et al. 2015, Nature; Lovisa et al. 2015, Nature Medicine), exosomes mediated oncogene targeting (Kamerkar et al. 2017, Nature) and tumor metabolism (LeBleu et al. 2014, Nature Cell Biology), have formed the framework for the next set of projects that use innovative technologies such as CRISPR-Cas9, single cell and nuclei sequencing, exosome engineering and mouse modeling to address cutting-edge questions in cancer biology. The Kalluri laboratory strives to transform seminal basic cancer research to inform clinical translation of such findings and will employ any required technology to address important unanswered questions in cancer biology.
With strong support from the NCI, CPRIT Established Investigator Award, and other funding sources, the laboratory is well positioned to exploit the new avenues for fundamental discoveries in cancer and translate such findings into the clinic, exploiting the translational potential of MD Anderson. The Kalluri laboratory is located in a new building in the South Campus and is adjacent to those of Drs. Ronald DePinho, Filippo Giancotti, Giulio Draetta, Andrew Futreal, Jennifer Wargo, and James Allison.
We seek outstanding candidates with a strong background in bioinformatics and computational biology with a PhD and/or job experience with a track record of publications in these target areas. MD Anderson offers competitive salaries and outstanding benefits. Named one of the top 5 trendy cities in the USA, Houston is a rapidly growing and diverse metropolis with a vibrant arts and cultural scene. In addition, it has affordable housing and excellent public schools for young families. An international airport, including a hub for United Airlines and direct flights to many destinations in Europe, Asia and South America, make the city highly accessible and convenient for travel.
