Job Description

The University of Miami Miller School of Medicine's Department of Medicine has an exciting opportunity for a Postdoctoral Associate. This position will carry out research on active laboratory projects such as the role of Osteopontin in Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, heart failure, and atherosclerosis. Duties may include, but are not limited to, conceiving and executing experiments, conducting data analysis, making presentations, organizing the laboratory, assisting in writing grants and manuscripts, and being involved in other forms of research communication.

The minimum qualifications for this position are as follows: Ph.D. in a life science field of study. Prefer candidates who recently graduated with a Ph.D. Must possess a multidisciplinary approach to understand the basic mechanisms of muscle metabolism that includes: biochemistry, cell biology, mouse genetics, and human validation-based approaches to dissect the role of OPN signaling in the different disease models.

Patient safety is a top priority.
