　　Job Description

　　Postdoctoral position is available at a lab with a NIH-funded research project to study functions of anti-fibrotic molecule SARA (Smad Anchor for Receptor Activation) under the direction of Drs Hayashida and Schnaper in the Division of Kidney Disease, Department of Pediatrics located in downtown Chicago campus of Northwestern University.

　　We are looking for candidates who are highly motivated, experienced and interested in studies of cellular signaling.

　　Our laboratory investigates molecular mechanisms by which kidney fibrosis progresses. Our recent works suggest that SARA is a critical gate-keeper for cellular phenotype. The person who would fill the position will be participating in a project that tries to decipher how SARA exerts its functions. The candidate must have PhD in molecular/cellular science or equivalent, and is assumed to be capable of planning and conducting experiments, and evaluating and troubleshooting the results rather independently, but with close consultation with the PIs. New ideas for experimental approach/design will be welcomed. Some technical support could be provided by a lab technician.
