加州大学洛杉矶分校G.O. Discovery 实验室分子与细胞生物学博士后招聘
The UCLA G.O. Discovery Laboratory, located in the UCLA Broad Stem Cell Research Center and affiliated with the Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center and the Molecular Biology Institute, is looking to recruit a Research Scientist. The appointment will be through the Departments of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Biological Chemistry at the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine.
This position is available for Ph.D. or M.D., Ph.D. graduates with at least 2 years of past post-doctoral or post PhD research experience. The candidate will be expected to lead a major scientific project in the laboratory under supervision of the laboratory principal investigator. The candidate will participate in funded translational research programs to study stromal and epithelial interactions in gynecologic cancers. Working in the laboratory of Sanaz Memarzadeh, M.D., Ph.D., your research will focus on developing better strategies for therapy of ovarian and endometrial cancers that can be taken from the laboratory to the clinic. You will also work to understand the role of epithelial and stromal interactions in gynecologic cancers with an emphasis on hormonal signaling and the role of stem cells. Additional projects focus on overcoming mechanisms of therapy resistance in ovarian and endometrial cancers. This program concentrates on defining the genetic changes that induce ovarian and endometrial cancers, cell populations that give rise to the tumor with an emphasis on finding better-tolerated and more effective treatments for patients.
The right candidate for this fellowship will be a highly motivated Ph.D. or M.D., Ph.D. graduate with a strong background in molecular and cellular biology. Experience with microscopy, immunohistochemistry, FACSanalysis, virology, immunology and small animal surgical procedures are strongly preferred. The applicant must have two first author publications in peer-reviewed journals.
