多伦多大学圣米高医院研究糖尿病并发症或肾脏疾病方向博士后招聘
Postdoctoral fellow positions are immediately available within the lab of Dr. Andrew Advani at the Keenan Research Centre for Biomedical Science, St. Michael's Hospital & University of Toronto. The Advani Lab (advanilab.com) has a research interest in diabetes and its complications. Positions are available for highly motivated and skilled individuals interested in gaining training in epigenetic processes as they relate to diabetes and kidney disease.
Applicants should be within the first five years of their PhD or MD/PhD and should have an excellent record of impactful first-authored publications. Applicants should have demonstrated experience in cell, molecular and biochemical techniques (e.g. ChIP, ChIP-Seq, confocal microscopy, gene transfection, qPCR, protein assays) as well as previous experience in the use of mouse models. Strong communication and inter-personal skills are essential and familiarity with the field of diabetes complications and/or kidney disease would be an asset.
Postdoctoral fellows will be required to work independently, design and perform experiments and analyze data. It is expected that trainees will present their research work at international meetings and will be the primary authors of the scientific publications arising from the work. The Advani Lab has a strong interest in career mentorship. Several of our trainees hold national training awards and fellowships and previous alumni now hold their own faculty positions.
The lab is based at the Keenan Research Centre for Biomedical Science at St. Michael's Hospital, a teaching hospital affiliated with the University of Toronto. The institution provides excellent research facilities and equipment and there are rich opportunities for collaboration both at St. Michael's and within the broader University of Toronto community.
Interested applicants should send a cover letter, curriculum vitae (CV) and the names and contact details of three referees to Dr. Andrew Advani (advania@smh.ca)
