Exciting opportunity for a post-doctoral fellow to join a translational laboratory studying various aspects of cellular adaptive immunity, especially in relation to T regulatory cell characterization, function and expansion, as well as the effects of costimulatory blockade. We also have an unrelated and more minor focus on  TLR  related innate immunity. We have a history of successfully conducting basic and preclinical experiments on new biologic agents and translating them into the clinic, and currently collaborate in clinical trials studying the adaptive use of T regulatory cells in allogeneic settings. The ideal candidate will be able and willing to be a full intellectual partner in the ongoing T regulatory research program of this busy and varied lab as well as develop their own project(s) in other aspects of our work. Successful candidates will be expected to take the lead in manuscript preparation, and conference and data presentations on their projects. Must be a post-doctoral fellow. Must have human cellular immunology experience, such as isolation of peripheral blood cells for characterization, purification, and cryopreservation; cell culture; sterile technique; cell-based assays including mixed lymphocyte culture and use of various molecular biology and immunology techniques to assess immune responses. Flow cytometry and cell sorting experience desirable. Prior experience with T cell immunology in particular a strong plus. Other relevant experience includes multianalyte analysis (e.g. Luminex),  ELISA , RT- PCR , genechip and mircoarray, assay development and adaptation. The ideal candidate will be able to perform their own bioinformatics analyses of these data and will support others in the lab in their analyses of similar data. Experience in murine models is a plus. Other qualitites required: Demonstrated strong organizational skills. Reliable, organized, and flexible with ability to handle multiple activities and to reprioritize tasks. Strong written and oral communication skills. Ability to work independently coupled with strengths as a collaborative lab member.
