美国马里兰大学心脏方向博士后
Post-Doctoral Fellow
DEPARTMENT OF SURGERY, DIVISION OF CARDIAC SURGERY
UNIVERSITY OF MARYLAND SCHOOL OF MEDICINE
A fulltime postdoctoral fellow position is immediately available in the laboratory of Deqiang Li, PhD, in the Department of Surgery, Division of Cardiac Surgery at the University of Maryland School of Medicine.
Research in my laboratory is focused on understanding the mechanisms of cardiovascular development and promoting adult heart regeneration. One of ongoing exiting projects is to identify novel epigenetic paracrine signaling pathways that regulate myocardial development by using in vitro and in vivo approaches. Another active project is to identify genes/factors that can promote heart regeneration.
Mouse and cell model systems, including conditional gene knockouts, will be used in these research projects, and many state of the art techniques are employed, such as real time PCR, CRISPR/Cas9 Genome Editing, RNA-Seq and ChIP Seq, confocal microscopy, real time imaging and advanced microscopy, multicolor flow and sorting, surgical models, ultrasonic and telemetric measurements of cardiovascular function in mice. The University of Maryland School of Medicine has a group of outstanding scientists in cardiovascular research, especially in cardiovascular cell signaling, diabetes, endothelial biology, and pathogenesis of atherosclerosis. Successful applicants will have the opportunity to work with them and get help in developing an independent career in this research field.
Applicants must have a PhD, MD/PhD or equivalent degree and proven skills and experience in molecular biology. We are seeking talented and self-motivated postdoctoral candidates with a good work ethic, and a strong interest in cardiovascular development and regeneration. Candidates with background and experience in stem cells, mouse in vivo studies and genomics are preferred. Good writing and oral communication skills in English are required as well as the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Interested candidates should send a CV, a one-page statement of research interests and future career goals, and contact information for three references. Please send your application as a single PDF file to:
