Postdoctoral Position
Department of Neurology, Yale School of Medicine
A postdoctoral position is available with Dr. Stephen G Waxman group at the Center for Neuroscience and Regeneration Research, Department of Neurology at Yale School of Medicine. The Waxman group studies excitability disorders including neuropathic pain, and implements an inter-disciplinary approach to elucidate molecular basis for pain pathophysiology and resilience. The new position will be focused on studying patient-specific iPSC-derived sensory neurons from individuals with painful sodium channelopathies. The candidate must have demonstrable expertise in generating and characterizing iPSCs and/or CRISPR technology for genome editing, and excellent communication skills. This is a superb opportunity to collaborate with cell and molecular biologists, electrophysiologists, pharmacologists and clinicians on studies on cellular and molecular mechanisms that mediate pain, with focused attention on the contributions of sodium channels. The position is available immediately, and applications will be evaluated until the position is filled. Recent graduates with strong interest in iPSC and/or CRISPR technology are welcome to apply.
