Postdoctoral Research Associate in Sugar/Protein Chemical Biology : Oxford, United Kingdom
Salary: Grade 7: £31,604 - £38,833 p.a.
Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Associate to work under the supervision of Professor Ben Davis on a research project funded by CRUK and ESPRC for a period of 13 months. The project involves research at the interface of chemistry and biology that will use novel methods to design a new class of sugar-mimic antibiotics. Duties will include managing own academic research and administrative activities, contributing ideas for new research projects and undertaking comprehensive and systematic literature reviews and writing up the results for publication in peer-reviewed journals.
You should have a PhD in chemistry, biochemistry or chemical biology or have submitted your thesis prior to taking up your appointment. You should have recent experience of sugar chemistry and/or protein chemistry and/or bioorganic chemistry and/or enzymology and/or molecular biology and/or microbiology.
The post will be based in the Chemistry Research Laboratory, Mansfield Road, Oxford, OX1 3TA and is available immediately.
