We are offering a position for a post-doctoral fellow within the research team of Dr. Manlio Vinciguerra, at the International Clinical Research Center of St. Anne´s University Hospital in Brno (FNUSA – ICRC). We are seeking a motivated post-doc who will join the Laboratory of Epigenetics, Metabolism and Aging (EMA), within the Center for Translational Medicine (CTM).
Project: characterizing new epigenetic mechanisms involved in hematopoiesis, resistance to DNA damage and aging.
Start Date: mid-September / October 2017

Job Description:
We invite applications for a post-doc from applicants with an enthusiastic interest in cell biology, epigenetics and stem cells (both embryonic and adult). The successful candidate will work under the supervision of Dr. Vinciguerra to identify and characterize novel epigenetic mechanisms (histone variants, DNA methylation) involved in defective haematopoiesis following irradiation-induced DNA damage, which have an impact on cancer and radiation workers.

Desirable Qualifications:
- The post-doc candidate should hold a PhD in cell biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, animal sciences, medicine or similar field.
- Experience in cell cultures, western blotting, qPCR, confocal microscopy, flow cytometry, sequence analyses.
- Experience in stem cell cultures (iPS, ESC) is strongly preferred.
- Basic knowledge of bioinformatics and next generation sequencing (NGS).
- Fluency in English language is required.
- The applicant should be well-organised, motivated and passionate about pursuing a career in biomedical research.
- The applicant should have a team-driven mentality.
