The Institute of Material Physics and the Collaborative Research Center CRC 1073 "Atomic scale control of energy conversion" at the Georg-August University Göttingen invites applications for

PostDoc Position
(Salary group 13 TV-L, 39,8 hrs/week)
in the research area of synthesis and properties of advanced thin film materials. The position will start by September 1, 2017 and is limited to 2 years, with the option of extension for 1 additional year.

We are looking for excellent candidates with a strong research interest in the fundamental understanding of growth mechanisms and structure property relations of complex thin films. Interesting examples may include perovskite oxides, layered materials, heterostructures or other materials systems which are of relevance in the research of the CRC 1073 (see www.sfb1073.uni-goettingen.de). You are enthusiastic about the art of growing high quality materials and you enjoy close collaborations with other scientists. Moreover you are highly motivated in driving new directions in the topic of material physics of thin films. We are looking for candidates with appropriate prior knowledge in pulsed laser deposition methods. Acquisition of third party funding for establishment of a junior research group is expected.
