In the Quantum Optics group, Institute for Applied Physics at the University of Bonn, a position for postdoctoral fellow / senior scientist is to be filled. We are looking for candidates with an excellent Ph. D. in the field of experimental quantum optics / AMO physics who want to qualify for a scientific career. The position can be filled within an employee relationship (TVL 13) or within a public serve position (E 13), and is limited to up to 3 years. An extension for a further 3 years is possible in principle.

Our group conducts research with quantum gases of light in optical micro-resonators as well as with ultra-cold atomic gases. The focus of the planned research will be on the field of Bose-Einstein condensates of photons. Current research activities in this field include the investigation of quantum gases of light in periodic lattice potentials, as well as the coherence properties of optical condensates.
