The Inhalation & Developmental Toxicology Laboratory of the Department of Comparative Biomedical Sciences, School of Veterinary Medicine at Louisiana State University is seeking for a Post-Doctoral Researcher. The focus of the research is production & characterization of aerosols, composed of engineered nanoparticles, ultrafine or fine particles, as well as inhalation & developmental toxicology. Investigate the fundamental mechanisms at the epigenetic, molecular & cellular levels that underlie the developmental origins of health & disease, with respect to respiratory effects caused by distinct emerging inhaled environmental pollutants. The incumbent will work on current projects examining the pulmonary toxicity induced by engineered nanoparticles, second-hand smoke, electronic cigarette vapor, hookah smoke, & a combination of multi-pollutants.

Conduct research involving in vitro exposure of cell cultures.

In vivo exposure of mice to inhaled pollutants.

Incorporate immunological, biochemical, cellular and molecular biological assays into these studies. Incumbent must be able to work independently in a collaborative team environment. The employee is expected to present and publish research findings in peer reviewed journals. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

PhD, MD, or DVM in biology, toxicology, immunology, physiology, biochemistry, or related bio-sciences.

Preferred Qualifications:

2-3 years of applicable experience.
