The University of Minnesota Cardiovascular Division and Lillehei Heart Institute, in Minneapolis, Minnesota is looking to recruit an outstanding Molecular Biologist (Postdoctoral Associate) to be the lead investigator on projects evaluating the role of mRNA stabilizing proteins on cardiac function and arrhythmias and the use of abnormal circulating mRNA splicing for prediction of sudden death risk.
This individual will be expected to collaborate with other laboratory scientists and outside scientific partners in the design, implementation, and analysis of experiments. They will be expected to prepare manuscripts for submission to scientific journals and present at scientific meetings. They will be expected to assist in applying for funding from sponsored research grants (NIH, AHA, industry, etc.).
Position Requirements and Qualifications: PhD in molecular biology with at least 2+ years of demonstrated experience in molecular biology. Have at least one first-author paper already published in peer-reviewed journals. Must be highly motivated, creative, and devoted to project goals, and able to collaborate proficiently and communicate effectively with colleagues.
