The candidate will have the opportunity to develop a research area within plant pathology for one or more of the diseases affecting important broadleaved arable crops or high-value crops.
Depending on the profile of the candidate, host resistance, pathogen virulence, host-pathogen interactions and pathogen biology/ecology/epidemiology could be part of the research program. The program could include, but is not restricted to, host interactions and biology and control of soil-borne pathogens/nematodes, pathogens affecting high-value crops and/or seed-borne pathogens. We are interested in applicants with experience in classical as well as molecular plant pathology.
The selected candidate is expected to

Research environment
The applicant will be part of the vibrant plant pathology environment within the department. The group is among the leading plant pathology groups in Europe in molecular diagnostics, rusts in cereals, diseases in potato, seed-borne diseases, pathogen epidemiology/ecology, integrated pest management and foliar diseases in cereals, amongst others. Permanent scientific staff includes Profs. Mogens S. Hovmøller and Per Kudsk, and Senior scientists Annemarie Fejer Justesen, Mogens Nicolaisen, Lise Nistrup Jørgensen and Bent J. Nielsen and approximately 15 post docs/PhD students.
The Department of Agroecology carries out research in agroecology, i.e. the interaction between plants, animals, humans and the environment within agroecosystems for the production of food, feed, energy and biobased products. This means that variations in soil and climate conditions play an important role in the research activities. The department is geographically distributed between several locations in Denmark.
The Department of Agroecology has approximately 270 employees who are organised in six research sections, a secretariat and three field trails and semi-field stations. The department has a flexible and informal working environment.
