摘要:

Postdoctoral Fellow Location: Monterotondo (near Rome), Italy Staff Category: Postdoctoral Fellow Contract Duration: 2 years Grading: NA Closing Date: 7 May 2017 Reference Number: MR_00054 Job Description

The Hackett Group is looking for a highly talented postdoctoral researcher to lead an exciting project on epigenetic inheritance in mammalian models.

Research in the group is focused on understanding epigenetic mechanisms of genome regulation and transgenerational epigenetic inheritance. Other streams of research cover (epi)genomics analyses of embryonic stem cells and the germline cycle, and development of epigenetic editing technologies (www.embl.it/research/unit/hackett).

EMBL is Europe’s flagship research organisation for the life sciences – an intergovernmental organisation with more than 80 independent research groups covering the spectrum of molecular biology. EMBL is international, innovative and interdisciplinary – its 1600 employees, from many nations, operate across five sites near Heidelberg, Hamburg, Grenoble, Rome and Cambridge.

EMBL Monterotondo is a highly interactive and dynamic international environment, with a focus on epigenetics and neurobiology. Research is supported by world-class core facilities, including advanced microscopy, FACS, CRISPR genomics, mouse transgenics, histology and bioinformatics. The EMBL campus is situated just outside historic Rome, and enables nearby access to the coast, the Apennines, and the lifestyle and culture of Rome.

Qualifications and Experience

You hold a PhD and have a proven track record in epigenomics, molecular biology and/or developmental biology, combined with a strong desire to work on fundamental research questions. Specific experience with epigenetics, mouse biology or bioinformatics would be a strong plus.

The ideal candidate has strong initiative and ability to independently drive a project forward, a desire to break new ground with their research, and is keen to work in a collaborative international environment.
