英国圣乔治大学助理研究员
Applicants are invited for a post-doctoral research assistantpost with Dr Yanmin Hu in the Institute for Infection and Immunity, St George’s University of London, on the investigation of novel strategies to detect and eliminate persistent Mycobacterium tuberculosis in animal experimental models of tuberculosis. This project is funded by the Medical Research council. The project will focus on establishment of an in vivo tuberculosis model to detect and quantify persistent M. tuberculosis and study the link between elimination rate of persister and disease relapse, which will provide a model system to predict disease relapse and to rank the efficacies of novel TB drug regimens.
This project will offer the opportunity to work with Biosafety level 3 pathogens in Biosafety level 3 and animal experimental laboratories. The project builds upon extensive studies by Dr Hu’s group in tuberculosis field (Hu Y, et al. 2016 Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy. 60:4778-4785 and Hu Y, et al.2015. Frontiers in Microbiology).
Applicants are expected to have a PhD degree and a record of publication in mainstream journals. The successful applicant will likely have experience working with Hazard Group 3 pathogens in Biosafety level 3 laboratory, although full training will be given. Experience in experimental animal models is preferred and possession of an animal licence is desirable.
