摘要:

The Nestlé Institute of Health Sciences (NIHS) has recently been established to deliver world class excellence in biomedical research to better understand health and disease as influenced by genetics, metabolism and environment with the goal of translating this knowledge into personalized science-based nutrition.

The Institute combines latest technologies and biomedical knowledge to study the molecular mechanisms of chronic disease. Large-scale omics capabilities including genomics, proteomics, lipidomics and metabolomics are integrated with bioinformatics and systems biology to generate holistic molecular insights into nutritionally actionable conditions. Using this integrated approach, we are developing nutritional approaches to prevent disease and facilitate healthy aging.

Demonstrating high scientific skills, creativity and innovative spirit, you will be working in a dynamic, multi-cultural and interdisciplinary research environment. In this role you will be using methods for pancreatic cellular reprogramming, and for human adult stem cell differentiation, in order to generate cellular humanized models for diabetes in the context of a granted H2020 EU project.

Key responsibilities

*Design and set up experiments as required for the progression of the project. He/she will use methods for pancreatic cellular reprogramming, for expansion of human stem cell cultures, for human stem cell differentiation, and genetic cell engineering but also molecular techniques including cloning, qPCR, as well animal models, FACS and histology.
*Read, comprehend and translate current scientific literature into laboratory setting
*Provide hands on scientific expertise in the laboratory to design and execute experiments
*Plan scientific projects with clear and supported scientific rationale.
*Collect, record, analyze, reduce and interpret all data according to scientifically accepted standards. Able to handle and follow through with all administrative matters concerning internal and external research projects.
*Write up and or organize data into presentations for internal and or external reports publications or scientific meetings
*For major new initiatives able to put together rationale, propose project plans and budget to the management and support the defense of these in scientific forum
*Develop collaborative interactions with all team members and experts from other teams and efficiently utilize and integrate systems biology strategies in to work flow. Engage external academic and commercial collaborations

Education and experience

*PhD in Stem Cells biology
*Solid knowledge of molecular and cellular biology
*Strong expertise in pancreatic development and type 1 Diabetes
*Previous 1-2 years of post-doc experience as well as knowledge in metabolism will be considered an asset
*Publication record in high impact journals
*Fluency in English

Show us that you demonstrate strong result focus and excellent proactive cooperation. The ideal candidate will be able to take initiative in interdisciplinary teams and engage partnerships. Your commitment, open-mindedness and team spirit will be highly appreciated in our very international fast-pace environment.
