摘要:

Postdoctoral Fellow in Genetics of Hypertension

Applications are invited for innovative ideas to transform the search for all genes that influence blood pressure. The lab is well funded and I will be available to discuss experimental strategies, results and prepare data for publication. We offer excellent laboratory infrastructure and multidisciplinary team to carry on genetic, molecular, cellular, pre-clinical, clinical and population studies (http://genetica.incor.usp.br, also check PUBMED under krieger je). Part of the work will be carried at the laboratory of our collaborator at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center where we are doing a systematic genome wide search to identify and characterize all genes influencing blood pressure phenotypes. Interested candidates, please send by email a 1-2 page outline of your specific goals and experimental approaches and a CV. Selected candidates will be contacted within 1-2 weeks to discuss the proposal via email, skype conference or in person.
Fellowships for up to 2 years with annual reviews are provided by FAPESP (State of Sao Paulo Research Funding Agency) on a competitive basis. We will support you to prepare the final proposal in English and serve as adviser. The average time between submission and approval for this proposal is 2-3 months.
The Laboratory of Genetic and Molecular Cardiology (LGMC) is located at the Heart Institute (InCor) in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Fifty percent of all scientific papers in Brazil are produced in the State of São Paulo and the University of Sao Paulo responds for almost half of that. The InCor is a tertiary 500 bed hospital dedicated to Cardiovascular Medicine within the largest Medical Center in Latin American and affiliated to the University of Sao Paulo Medical School. The InCor is tailored to develop translational cardiovascular research and is waiting for you to advance the field.
