The University of Miami Miller School of Medicine's Department of Orthopedics (Division of Sports Medicine) has an exciting opportunity for a Post-Doctoral Associate. This position is based in the Correa Laboratory and is a great opportunity for a person interested in Adult Mesenchymal Stem Cell (MSC) Biology and the immunomodulatory capacity. This position works closely with the Diabetes Research Institute at the University of Miami. Specifically, the Correa Laboratory is interested in the identification and characterization of functional subpopulations of MSC, from both the bone marrow and adipose tissue sources, and their potentially distinct immunomodulatory and trophic activities. The Post-Doctoral Associate must have experience with MSC biology (extraction, immunophenotypification, expansion, etc.) as well as differentiation protocols (e.g., chondrogenic aggregates). Knowledge/experience with in vivo animal models to study potential therapeutic effects of MSC (Musculoskeletal and/or Diabetes) is highly desirable.
