A postdoctoral position is available immediately in the laboratory of Scott E. Evans, MD, in the Department of Pulmonary Medicine, University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, Texas.

The Evans lab studies mechanisms of inducible antimicrobial responses from lung epithelial cells that can be manipulated to protect vulnerable populations against pneumonia. Fellows may elect to engage in projects related to pattern recognition receptor signaling, generation of antimicrobial peptides, antimicrobial and signaling properties of reactive oxygen species, or contributions of epithelial populations to antimicrobial defenses.
