Job Description
A post-doctoral position in computational condensed matter physics/materials science is available immediately at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. The work involves research in the area of complex oxide materials and their interfaces, low dimensional electronic systems, and other emerging problems of current interest. Required qualifications: (i) PhD in theoretical condensed matter physics/materials science; (ii) strong research accomplishments as evident from the publication record; (iii) expertise in electronic band structure calculations using density functional electronic structure methods such as Quantum ESPRESSO and VASP; (iv) the ability and interest to pursue challenging interdisciplinary problems; and (v) the ability and interest to work in collaboration with experimentalists; (vi) and good communication skills. The initial appointment will be for two years, with a possibility of renewal upon mutual agreement and availability of funding. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
