Postdoctoral Research Associate : Memphis, TN, United States
A postdoctoral position is available to study mechanisms of Hedgehog signal transduction. The successful candidate will join a collaborative work group aimed at understanding how the Hedgehog pathway is regulated during development, and dissecting how its regulation is usurped in cancer. Areas of interest include biogenesis and secretion of the Hedgehog ligand, regulation and signaling of the signal transducer Smoothened and investigation of the downstream effectors to which it signals. We utilize a combination of biochemistry, cell biology and genetic model systems to examine these processes.
Applicants should have or expect a PhD degree at the time of application. The selected postdoctoral fellow will actively develop their own research project, perform laboratory experiments with minimal supervision, develop new procedures as needed and interact collaboratively with other members of the lab. The successful candidate will also actively participate in the publication and presentation of research results. Prior experience with signal transduction research and/or mouse model systems is preferred.
