美国西北大学神经科学博士后职位
Postdoctoral position in Molecular/Cellular Neuroscience at Northwestern University : Chicago, IL, United States
The Sanz-Clemente lab, a NIH-funded lab located in the Chicago campus of Northwestern University, is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to investigate molecular mechanisms underlying synapse activation during physiological development and their implications in neurodevelopmental disorders.
The Sanz-Clemente lab is a new molecular/cellular lab established in 2015 and affiliated to the Department of Pharmacology, Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern University. Our research program is focused on elucidating molecular mechanisms controlling glutamate receptors (GluRs) in normal and altered conditions. We use a multidisciplinary approach including biochemistry, cell and molecular biology, pharmacology as well as a variety of cutting-edge imaging techniques and genetic manipulations for understanding how GluRs are controlled during development, in response to experience or other stimuli and what is their impact on synaptic function. Similarly, we investigate how the dysregulation of these mechanisms leads to synaptic alterations and, eventually, to neurological disorders.
Highly motivated applicants with a recent Ph.D., and strong background in cellular/molecular neuroscience are encouraged to apply. Experience in advanced imaging techniques (super-resolution, live imaging) and/orCRISPR/Cas9 technology is also desired. The successful candidate will be self-motivated and able to work independently and as part of a team
