A postdoc position for planetary science is open at the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory (SAO) in Cambridge, Massachusetts. SAO is a part of the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics (CFA). This is a two-year appointment with an annual salary of approximately $60,000 and health insurance allowance. The position is expected to be filled before June 2016. Potential applicants are strongly encouraged to submit their applications before April 30, 2016.

The postdoc will process Mars images, use the product to study Martian dust storms and clouds, and perform numerical simulations to study Martian atmospheric circulation. The candidate should have strong programming skills and a major in physical science. Experiences with atmospheric science / planetary science and general circulation models are preferred.
