Job Description
We are looking for an individual with research experience broadly in the area of energy and environmental systems engineering. There is one position open in the following research areas.
Energy Forecasting and Planning (PDF-EFP) – Individuals applying for a position in this area of research should have interest and some experience in modeling of sectorial energy demand and supply. The aim is to develop environmental footprints (GHGs, water, land) of energy demand and supply sectors for a particular jurisdiction. The individual should also have some experience working with relevant energy forecasting and planning models (e.g., LEAP, MARKAL).
The candidate is expected to carry out research on assigned project(s). The candidate will also have opportunities to develop and initiate new research activities in relevant areas and supervise junior researchers. The candidate would also have an opportunity to teach relevant courses in the Department of Mechanical Engineering based on their background.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to join an active group of researchers in the area of energy and environmental systems engineering being supported by industry and government. The position is initially for one year and has the possibility of extension. The remuneration will be commensurate with qualifications. Desired Qualifications: The candidate should have a PhD in a relevant engineering discipline with an emphasis in the above-mentioned areas. |
