Postdoctoral Research Associate

Are you an experienced and self-motivated individual with knowledge of yeast genetics and/or chromatin biology? We have an exciting role available for 9 months (maternity cover) and the lab focuses on the epigenetic mechanisms controlling genomic and phenotypic plasticity of the most common human fungal pathogen: Candida albicans. There are several exciting ongoing projects to which you will contribute.
As PDRA you will:
- Independently carry out research with guidance from the PI.
- Assist with supervising graduate students in the lab e.g. provide training in techniques and advice on experimental design.
- Produce data that will be published in international, high quality journals.
- Present their work at group and departmental meetings.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A PhD in an appropriate field.
- The ability to work independently, efficiently, creatively and, collegially.
- The ability to supervise graduate students.
- Strong oral communication skills and be highly self-motivated.
School of Biosciences
The School of Biosciences is a part of the University's Faculty of Science, and teaches undergraduate degree programmes in Biochemistry, Biology and Biomedical Sciences. Research projects are also undertaken in the same disciplines.
