Postdoctoral Research Fellow – Cancer Epigenomics

Fixed term for 3 years

We are looking for a self-motivated, enthusiastic research fellow to join the laboratory of Dr Duncan Sproul and investigate mechanisms of DNA methylation dysregulation in breast cancer.

We have previously demonstrated the importance of interactions between transcription factors and epigenetic marks in gene transcriptional regulation (Benveniste et al 2014 PNAS 111:13367, PMID: 25187560). The purpose of this project is to understand the molecular mechanisms that underpin these interactions how they impact on epigenetic instability in breast cancer.

The successful candidate will work within a successful multidisciplinary research team that applies both computational and laboratory techniques to understand mechanisms responsible for epigenetic dysfunction in cancer. This project will have a particular emphasis on the use of genome and epigenome editing technologies such as CRISPR.

Candidates who have been awarded, or are soon to be awarded, a PhD in a relevant discipline and have experience with a broad range of molecular biology and biochemistry techniques are invited to apply. Applicants must possess the ability to think independently while working within an interdisciplinary research team to drive research projects towards publication. Applications from candidates with a strong track record in transcription factor biology are particularly welcome.
