摘要:

Postdoctoral Fellow : New York , NY, United States

The Niethammer Lab at MSKCC, NYC is looking for two creative postdoctoral researchers with a strong basic scientific portfolio (e.g., in Cell Biology, Biophysics, Systems Biology, Bioengineering, Immunology, or Developmental Biology) who are interested in applying quantitative imaging techniques to address fundamental medical and biological questions in live zebrafish, cultured cells, and reconstituted in vitro systems.

A central focus of the lab are the chemical and biophysical mechanisms that underlie early, damage-induced epithelial inflammation and healing (Niethammer et al., Nature, 2009; Enyedi et al., Nature Cell Biology 2013; Gault et al., Journal of Cell Biology, 2014; Enyedi et al., Cell (in press), 2016). We aim to understand how misregulation of these mechanisms promotes cancer and epithelial disease.

Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC) is among the top cancer treatment and research centers in the United States. As part of the Tri-Institutes (Sloan Kettering Institute, Weill Cornell Medical College and Rockefeller University), MSKCC’s researchers and students enjoy a collaborative, enriching environment and a host of educational and training resources. MSKCC offers competitive pays and benefits, including highly subsidized family housing and child care.

Application Requirements
• Excellent knowledge of standard molecular biology/biochemistry/genetic techniques.
• Experience with widefield/confocal live microscopy & image analysis.
• Of advantage: Basic programming/scripting experience (e.g. MatLab, Java, Python)

The application should comprise:
• Personal statement (incl. statement of research interests and project ideas if available).
• Reprints of 1-2 first authorship publications (international, peer-reviewed journals).
• On request: At least 2 letters of reference separately submitted by previous advisors.
