Postdoc / Epidemiologist
in part time 19,75 hours/week

Description:
In the frame of a BMBF-funded research project on the influence of genetic and lifestyle factors and their interactions on colorectal cancer risk, you will be involved in investigating research questions on the role of genetic factors on treatment outcome and gene-environment interaction, conducting data analysis (including meta-analysis) of multiple studies, preparation of scientific manuscripts and reports, and project management. In this context state-of-the-art statistical methods in genetic epidemiology will be employed. Furthermore you are encouraged to develop independent research questions and assist in the preparation of grant proposals.
Your profile:
• Applicants should have a degree (diploma) in natural sciences or mathematics and an additional degree in biometry or epidemiology.
• Excellent knowledge of statistical evaluation methods of epidemiologic studies as well as utilisation of analysing computer programs (SAS, R)
• Experience in performing epidemiological / clinical studies and writing scientific publications and presentations in English.
The position is limited to 18 months.
