Postdoctoral Scholar : Chicago, IL, United States
Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position to conduct and contribute to research projects focused on examination of the DNA damage response as it relates to the NF-kappaB (NF-KB) pathway. Specifically, studies will examine how post-translational modification of NF-KB subunits and related proteins modulate DNA damage signaling to maintain genome stability both under genotoxic conditions and during the normal cell cycle. The Postdoctoral Scholar will work under the direction of the PI to complete the project(s) outlined and write scientific manuscripts. In addition, the postdoctoral scholar will contribute to writing grants proposal and will teach complex laboratory techniques to new lab staff members.
Minimum qualifications include: a doctorate degree in biochemistry or a related field; experience in biochemical and molecular techniques including work with cells, protein, RNA and DNA; relevant research experience with quantitative PCR analysis and Chromatin immunoprecipitation (ChIP); experience handling small animals including harvesting of MEFs and colony maintenance is preferred; a publication record; demonstrated record of effective verbal and written communication skills, including one-on-one and group communications with colleagues both inside and outside of the lab; and a desire to work in a dynamic multidisciplinary environment.
