Postdoctoral Fellowship in Health Economics/Health Services Rese : Memphis, TN, United States

The faculty mentor for this position will be Dr.TERESA M WATERS. The Department of Preventive Medicine at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center is seeking applications for a postdoctoral position in health economics, health services research, or a similar discipline. This position provides strong mentorship in a supportive, multi-disciplinary environment, and an excellent opportunity to further develop research skills and prepare for a career in academia, government, or consulting. The postdoctoral fellow will work on research projects related to health care delivery, health policy, insurance benefit design, and/or health behavior. The fellow will also have the opportunity to take the lead on their own projects. The fellow will work with faculty members Teresa Waters, Ilana Graetz, and Cameron Kaplan, and in the Health Services and Policy Research Group. This position will be for one year, and renewable for a second year, subject to first year productivity. The annual stipend will be based on the NIH Postdoctoral Research funding level. The University of Tennessee Health Science Center is a major medical and research center located in Memphis, Tennessee. The Department of Preventive Medicine is a large, interdisciplinary department with faculty in a wide range of disciplines including health economics, health services research, epidemiology, biostatistics, informatics, behavioral change, exercise physiology and health promotion.

Qualifications: Requirements for this position include a doctorate in economics, epidemiology, health services research or other quantitative doctoral degree with a health economics or health services research focus. The ideal candidate will have strong writing, quantitative, and communication skills, and the ability to think creatively about research. Salary will be commensurate with relevant experience and based on the prevailing wage for postdoctoral research trainees set by the U.S. Department of Labor.
