Postdoctoral Position on Decoding Metastatic Site Selection with Single Cell Genomics

Summary
The laboratory of Lloyd Trotman at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory’s Cancer Center is seeking postdoc candidates to define the genomic changes behind metastatic site selection in mouse and human.

The team has recently developed a unique model system to genetically engineer metastasis (see PMIDs: PMID: 24444712 and 25829425). Current work now combines the power of this model with single cell sequencing technology. The goal of this project is to understand the spontaneous gene alterations that reprogram a cell to metastasize to distinct sites. CRISPR/ Cas9 based genome editing techniques are then chiefly used to validate drivers of metastatic site selection. Comparative single cell analysis of human metastatic samples will guide this project through existing collaborations with cancer clinicians.

Position Requirements:

Candidates are expected to have a keen interest in mastering metastasis, to thrive as part of a dynamic team, and be able to multi-task. They are expected to develop entirely original research approaches and show excellent communication skills. Further information on the Trotman lab can be found online at trotmanlab.org.
