POST-DOCTORAL POSITIONS AVAILABLE IMMEDIATELY IN BIOMEDICAL SCIENCE/BIOCHEMISTRY/CELL BIOLOGY
UT Health Northeast

Two post-doctoral positions are available immediately in the Department of Cellular and Molecular Biology at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Tyler, Texas (UT Health Northeast) in the field of hemostasis and thrombosis. The specific focus of the research is on the biology of endothelial cell protein C receptor (EPCR) and tissue factor, and treatment of hemophilia. The potential candidates should have a Ph.D degree in one of the following fields: Biology/Life Sciences, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology or Biochemistry.

The applicants should have a strong background in Biochemistry and Cell Biology, and demonstrable experience using modern biochemical, cellular and molecular techniques. Research experience in blood coagulation, bleeding and thrombotic disorders is highly preferred. Research experience in phospholipid and cholesterol metabolism, receptor biology, and signal transduction is desirable. Experience in one or more of the techniques is necessary: animal model systems related to clotting and cardiovascular diseases, immunohistochemistry, protein purification and characterization, phospholipid analysis, and confocal microscopy.

Salary will be based on the qualification and experience, and is negotiable.

UT Health Northeast is a basic and clinical research institute for chest diseases and cancer and is a component of highly acclaimed The University of Texas System. The research laboratories at UT Health Northeast are housed in a modern facility equipped with a state-of-the-art instrumentation, and located in Tyler, Texas. Tyler, a mid-sized town with a population of 100,000, is situated approximately 90 miles east of the Dallas/Fort worth Metroplex and 90 miles west of Shreveport, Louisiana, amid beautiful lakes and the piney woods of East Texas.
