英国沃里克大学招聘数学建模方向博士后
Applications are invited for a postdoctoral research fellow position to work with Professor Christoph Ortner on an ERC funded project on atomistic and multi-scale materials simulation. The project currently involves 3 postdocs and 4 PhD students spanning analytical, numerical and computational aspects of atomistic/continuum models, electronic structure models, and free energy calculations.
The successful candidate’s role in the project is flexible, but preference will be given to a candidate with expertise in one of the following areas:
- Analysis of sampling algorithms and algorithms for free energy calculations (e.g., umbrella sampling or adaptive biasing force).
- Analysis of electronic structure models (e.g. tight-binding, KS-DFT, post-HF).
- Statistical mechanics models for solids (Cauchy-Born, TST, large deviations techniques).
Basic computing skills (e.g. Matlab, Python or Julia) and exposure to atomistic modelling (e.g. molecular dynamics), in particular materials modelling, will be beneficial.
Informal enquiries may be addressed to Christoph Ortner, c.ortner@warwick.ac.uk.
Applications (via the University’s HR website) should include a CV, a list of publications and a research statement. Applicants should also ensure that their three referees send their references by email to Georgina.Copeland@warwick.ac.uk by the closing date.
