法国Laue-Langevin 研究所招聘辐射探测器物理学博士后
Post Doctoral Fellow in radiation detector Physics (M/F)
Salary: 43,9k to 45,5k euros per year
The Neutron Detector Laboratory is responsible for the development of high-performance neutron detectors at the heart of the ILL's neutron diffraction instruments. In collaboration with the future European Spallation Source (ESS), the ILL is involved in the development of new gas detectors called Multi-Grids based on neutron boron film convertors. The next step is to further optimize their design in order to use them on an instrument.
Duties:
Working closely with the other members of the Neutron Detector Lab, as well as with staff from other ILL services, you will be in charge of:
- setting up experiments on neutron beam lines and with radio-active sources,
- performing data acquisition with a multi-channels digitizer system (Acqiris) and home-made electronics,
- carrying out signal processing and data analysis,
- mounting several prototypes,
- developing gas flow control systems,
- reporting, writing publications, presenting results in meetings and conferences.
Qualifications and experience:
You have a PhD in Physics (or equivalent qualification) with an expertise in radiation detectors physics. You also have solid expertise in one or several of the following areas:
- mechanics,
- gas and vacuum systems,
- programming and data analysis,
- analogue electronics and data acquisition systems.
You have a strong ability to analyse situations, identify issues and propose a plan of action. You enjoy teamwork and being in an international environment.
Language skills:
As an international research centre, we are particularly keen to ensure that we also attract applicants from outside France. You must have a sound knowledge of English and be willing to learn French (a language course will be paid for by the ILL). Knowledge of German would be an advantage.
Notes:
Post-Doctoral contract of 18 months, renewable for a further 6 to 18-month period.
Only candidates holding a PhD obtained less than 2 years ago are eligible for Post-doctoral positions.

Generous company benefits (expatriation allowance), relocation assistance and language courses may be offered for you and your spouse (for more information, please consult our employment conditions).
How to apply:
Please submit your application on-line with a list of publications and the name of 3 references (including one from your present work place), no later than 14.02.2016, via our web site: http://www.ill.eu/careers (vacancy reference: 16/01).
