The Department of Genetics at the Texas Biomedical Research Institute in San Antonio, Texas, is recruiting a postdoctoral scientist with expertise and training in bioinformatics analysis of metabolomics data. The postdoctoral scientist will establish a project related to GC-MS analysis of small molecules (metabolites) from human and nonhuman primate breath samples. The candidate will work closely with Dr. Laura Cox and Dr. Peter Nathanielsz to identify breath metabolites indicative of cardiac function studies. Main duties include sample collection, analysis of resulting mass spectral data, and integrated analysis of mass spectral data with cardiac imaging data.
Qualified candidates should have completed a Ph.D. in genetics, biochemistry, bioinformatics or a related analytical field. Prior experience in GC-MS for analysis of biological samples is essential, including expertise in data analysis. In addition, experience with LECO GC-MS systems, or experience with Agilent GC-MS systems and data analysis tools would be highly advantageous.
Interested candidates should apply online for position 16-002 at http://www.txbiomed.org/about/employment. A completed application packet is a requirement for all positions. Incomplete applications will not be accepted. EOE For any questions or inquiries, please contact Dr. Laura Cox at lcox@txbiomed.org. |
