The faculty mentor for this position will be Dr.JONATHAN H JAGGAR.POSTDOCTORAL POSITION – Arterial smooth muscle cell ion channels Postdoctoral position immediately available to study physiological regulation of arterial smooth muscle cell ion channels by the physiological gaseous vasodilators carbon monoxide and hydrogen sulfide. Projects include studying trafficking, signaling and functions of BKCa channels, similar to studies we have recently published (Leo et al PNAS 2014, Kidd et al Science Signaling 2015). Techniques in the laboratory include, RT-PCR, Western blotting, biotinylation, immunofluorescence, FRET, patch-clamp electrophysiology, calcium imaging, pressurized artery myography and blood pressure telemetry.
Qualifications: Experience with molecular biology, ion channel biochemistry, electrophysiology, and cardiovascular physiology preferred. Salary will be commensurate with relevant experience and based on the prevailing wage for postdoctoral research trainees set by the U.S. Department of Labor.
