Description:
We are looking for multiple enthusiastic and highly motivated postdoctoral fellows to join a multidisciplinary research team based in the Vanderbilt Epidemiology Center. Our group conducts multiple NIH-funded research projects, including three large population-based prospective cohort studies with over 225,000 study participants. Our research focuses on discovering the genetic determinants of cancer and other complex traits using high-density SNP arrays and next-generation sequencing. Ongoing research includes discovery of disease susceptibility loci, fine-mapping, functional annotation using bioinformatics tools, and in vitro functional characterization. We are also conducting microbiome studies to discover microorganisms associated with risk of cancer and other complex diseases. The successful applicants will take lead roles in the genetic and genomic analysis in the large-scale national and international consortium projects. The candidates will also have opportunities to develop new research projects in related areas.

Qualifications:
Applicants with a doctoral degree in genetics, computational biology, bioinformatics, biostatistics, or related areas are encouraged to apply. Programming skills in scripting languages such as R/Perl/Python on Unix/Linux systems are required.
